Presentation Abstract

The first supercomputer in Singapore was an NEC SX-1 installed at the National Supercomputing Research Cente in 1989. Much development has taken place in this country since then. This talk traces the history of supercomputing in Singapore, from the early days to the scene today. While the emphasis of this talk will be from A*CRC’s perspective, the key players in this country will be highlighted as well.
